Jerome "Jerry" J. Petrov

Jerome J. “Jerry” Petrov, of Sagamore Hills passed away March 30, 2026 surrounded by family. He is now united with the love of his life Joyce (nee Koberna) who preceded him in death in 2023 after 53 beautiful years of marriage.

Jerry is most loving father to Cheryl Reid (Dan), Michelle Petrov (Mark Frank), and Kim Trzaska (John). Cherished Grandpa to Briana and Brody Reid, Alex, Hailey and Kaitlyn Trzaska. Dearest son of the late John and Margaret Petrov (nee Marek) dear brother of the late Marilyn Petrov. Dear son-in-law of the late William and Bertha Koberna. Cousin and friend to many. 

Jerry grew up in Aurora, Ohio and graduated from Aurora High School. As a young man he worked as a paperboy, gas station attendant and golf caddy which led him to the love of golf. He attended Kent State University, honorably served time in the Army Reserves until landing a job at Ohio Bell where he dedicated 36 years of service.

Jerry belonged to numerous golf, bowling and baseball leagues over the years and was an active member of the Eagles F.O.E. Club in Bedford. He had a love for cars and motorcycles he owned in his younger years along with many stories attached to each one. An avid Cleveland sports fan, he also enjoyed hosting clam bakes, BBQ’s and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and friends at Luna’s for their weekly breakfast group.

Jerry was a provider, a man of wisdom and strength with a quick wit and sense of humor like no other. We lost a father with a heart of gold. A loving father tender and kind, what a beautiful memory you left behind. We will FOREVER cherish our beloved father, grandfather, cousin and friend. 

Jerry touched so many lives with his kindness, laughter and spirit. In honoring our Dad's wishes, we gather to honor and remember the beautiful moments shared. 

Family and friends may gather at The City of Macedonia Community room (lower lever of Macedonia City Hall) 9691 Valley View Road, Macedonia, OH 44056, for a Celebration of Life in honor of Jerry on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 4-9 p.m. A private service for the family will be held at the cemetery in the days following the celebration of life.
