Carl Howard Jackson, 84 years young, passed away Friday, September 9, 2023 surrounded by his family, who adored him to pieces. Married 58 years to Mary Ellen Jackson (Davidson) and amazing father to Dave Jackson, Scott Jackson, Jennifer Sluder (Jackson) and Scout (puppers, RIP); cherished grampa to Cameron Jackson, Jackson Sluder, and Harper Sluder; dear brother to Barbara Koontz (Jackson) and Lynn Jackson; dear son to the late Martha Frost (Jackson) and late Robert Jackson; a great friend to all who met him.
Carl was a kind and curious kindred spirit who loved spending time with his family & friends, the open road, books, tinkering with cars and everything else, and an avid foodie.
There will be a private ceremony at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (he served in the Air Force)
FAMILY AND FRIENDS: please join us at Jenny and Patrick’s home Tuesday, September 19th at 1pm where we are throwing Carl a big ol’ party per his wishes. Eat, drink, and be merry, and celebrate the Joy of Carl. Oh- it’s informal. Really—don’t dress up, he would want you to be comfortable.
